David Curran

Dave Curran is a results-oriented business leader with strong general management, analytical, communications, sales, marketing and client service, leadership and negotiation skills honed through diverse global experience as a senior management executive, deal maker and business counselor at large law firms and multinational and entrepreneurial corporations. Throughout his career, Dave has helped organizations craft strategic approaches for meeting their business opportunities and challenges, implement cost-effective solutions to business problems using modern technologies, and navigate the very tricky waters of compliance, ethics and overall regulatory regimes. Dave has a passion for bringing the best practices and tools from the private sector to the public arena and educating non-technologists on ways to use technology to advance strategic objectives. 

He is currently a Senior Strategic Advisor to Brightleaf Corporation and Rage Frameworks Inc., venture capital-backed technology businesses focused on data and content management designed to streamline outdated business processes for legal, financial and other professionals. Prior to that, Dave was President and CEO of Integrity Interactive Corporation, a technology-powered company that helps global organizations measure, manage and mitigate the risks of compliance and ethics failures. Before joining Integrity, Dave was President and CEO of DCI, Inc., a software-as-a-service compliance and marketing services subsidiary of Havas, the global communications and media giant. DCI helped financial services, pharmaceutical, healthcare, consumer goods and other companies manage their complex data and communications needs through user-friendly software tools.

Dave has held senior business leadership and legal positions with a variety of global organizations. At Big Flower Holdings, Inc. (now Vertis Communications), Dave served in increasingly senior executive positions including Group President where he led the company’s digital communications business, and Executive Vice President, Business and Legal Affairs for Vertis’s Direct Marketing Division. At Campbell Soup Company, Dave held a number of senior legal positions including general counsel to the company’s North American, European (based in Belgium) and Asian businesses. In addition to general corporate, M&A, intellectual property, commercial and litigation responsibilities, he was also heavily involved in the development and implementation of Campbell’s global ethics and compliance program and launched the company’s Worldwide Standards of Conduct.  Dave also served as Senior Attorney for The Reader’s Digest Association, Inc., where he focused on the company’s new media and home entertainment products, as well as its core magazine and book offerings. During his tenure, Reader’s Digest went public and acquired several publications, including American Health magazine.

He began his career as an attorney with Satterlee Stephens Burke & Burke in New York City. Satterlee is a boutique firm concentrating on litigation, media law, commercial transactions, and intellectual property. At Satterlee, Dave worked on high profile First Amendment, copyright and other intellectual property matters for major media companies such as ABC, CBS, Viacom, Bertelsmann, Gannett, Advance Publications and HarperCollins.

Dave received a B.A. with highest honors from the State University of New York at StonyBrook, and a J.D. from the Boston University School of Law. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and is licensed to practice law in the Federal and State courts of New York. A frequent guest speaker at industry forums and lecturer at educational institutions such as Rutgers University and the New School, Dave has provided unique insight on a variety of real world, practical and proactive enterprise-level approaches for dealing with strategic business challenges.
