Vantage is seeking Analyst candidates pursuing a career in consulting, who have exceptional communication and organizational skills, strong business knowledge, and a desire to solve problems creatively and support client-facing and internal projects. Analysts must be able to work diligently, both independently and as part of teams. They should be enthusiastic about learning from, working hard in, and taking advantage of the professional opportunities afforded to them. Individuals who excel in the Analyst role are given increasing client-related responsibilities over time and are considered for promotion to Consultant within two to three years.

There are three key categories of Analyst responsibilities

Client Support

Analysts are staffed to help support client projects, usually working as part of a team or directly with a senior team member. Responsibilities often include:

  • Project managing with input from the senior members of the team
  • Creating and maintaining project plans
  • Note taking and task management
  • Tracking and following up on action items to ensure completion
  • Managing logistics (e.g., scheduling, room bookings, technology setup, Zoom calls, meeting coordination)
  • Attending client meetings to take notes and organize them into a useful set of key ideas and actions after the meeting
  • Supporting diagnostic interviews and data analysis by administering surveys, compiling and interpreting qualitative and quantitative data, and developing reports
  • Creating strong first drafts and revisions to client deliverables (e.g., reports, training programs, process design) for review and refinement with the project team

Internal Support

Analysts are staffed to help support internal projects and initiatives. Responsibilities often include:

  • Conducting research on latest industry news and trends for Vantage presentations and publications
  • Supporting business development proposal creation
  • Preparing presentation materials for upcoming speaking engagements and conferences
  • Project management of small-to-large internal projects like conference preparation and survey creation

Miscellaneous Support

We are a small firm, and our team often needs to be resourceful and flexible. Analysts are often asked to help with all kinds of tasks large and small, such as:

  • Addressing urgent client or team needs outside of projects they are officially staffed to
  • Proofreading or formatting documents
  • Transcribing whiteboard notes, videos, etc.
  • Supporting internal initiatives, such as recruiting, Vantage Volunteers, and social events


Required qualifications for an ideal applicant include:

  • B.S. or B.A. degree with proven quantitative and qualitative abilities
  • Top-ranking academic credentials
  • Work experience (at least through internships) and a demonstrated interest in business consulting
  • Strong analytical, organizational, research, and communication skills
  • Proven attention to detail and ability to handle multiple commitments simultaneously
  • Solid judgment to distinguish between circumstances that require executing directions versus adding independent analysis
  • A self-motivated, resourceful approach to learning and mastering skills
  • Ability to take initiative independently and in a team, and navigate ambiguity
  • Commitment to timeliness and reliability
  • Grit and exceptional work ethic and accountability
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
  • Professional demeanor and presence
